I have discovered the world of Instagram.

And have been having a lot of fun with it. Putting up images and creating a portfolio!

On there are quite a number of Salton Sea images already and I have plenty more that will go up from my years and years of photographing the region.  I have started using the hashtag #thesaltonseaspeaks wanting to create a pool of photos that highlight the sea and the region and I hope that others will join me in using this hashtag.

I am still on the bike ride (vagabonditinerary.wordpress.com for updates, including a new Video!!!!) and it will be sometime before I return to California. However, I have been keeping up to date with the Salton Sea as much as is possible.

In other good news, there is a new documentary coming out, called "The Breaking Point"  www.facebook.com/saltonseadoc which will premiere at the Sedona Film Festival on February 26th!

I am excited to find out more about this documentary.
And I still have copies of my book available on Amazon! Click on this link to go straight there.

Over and out.

Where I have been?

Since the beginning of July, I have been away from the Salton Sea area doing a cross country and back bicycle tour. At the moment my companion Marcus and I are laying low in Washington DC waiting for my bike to be fixed. We have done about 5000 miles! We will continue in about two weeks, heading south towards warmer climes and longer days. The winter has been pretty hard with the cold, rain, and snow! Even though I grew up in cold regions, I got very very quickly used to the desert weather and the mild winters.

Here, a glimpse into what the last few weeks were like:

That is why this blog has been so quiet. I am not sure when I will be back in California. Originally we were supposed to go to Boston and then head back. During our travels, our journey has grown and what was just a relatively quick cross country tour then became an exercise in traveling slowly and gathering stories.  This included crossing Canada (went in and out three times) and will include in the near future, Florida, Mexico and Colorado/Utah. So we have decided to travel for at least a year, and do 10000 miles.
I have met some people on the way who know about the Salton Sea, or have visited there, or otherwise heard about it, which was always nice to hear!
We do have a blog that we have been keeping with many more photos and all the stories, which you can visit at: http://vagabonditinerary.wordpress.com/

or follow us on facebook

I do also have some of my books Portraits and Voices of the Salton Sea available on Amazon so head on over and get a copy for yourself! http://www.amazon.com/Portraits-Voices-Salton-Christina-Lange/dp/057810699X

For now, I wish you an awesome start to the new year and that all that you wish for becomes true.
